The sisters of Sigma Phi Omega are strongly committed to serving the community. Our official National Philanthropy is domestic violence. Each semester, members of each chapter actively participate in activities to bring domestic violence awareness and prevention to their individual campus and communities. Every October, our organization hosts a week of anti-domestic violence activities in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Through passing out informative flyers, donating supplies to shelters, hosting speakers, sponsoring organizations such as the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and interacting with victims of domestic violence, sisters of Sigma Phi Omega have championed for hope and love within important relationships and families.

While our mission is to bring domestic violence awareness and prevention to our respective communities, the scope of our philanthropy is not limited to this one cause. Our chapters sponsor and participate in many other philanthropic activities throughout the year, including AIDS walks, Habitat for Humanity, Canning for Hunger, Girls Inc., various shelters, clean cities programs, and many more.

Many of our members are also individually involved with helping the community by tutoring and mentoring disadvantaged and younger students, volunteering at hospitals and shelters, performing and helping at charitable events, and participating in various social justice programs.

Sigmas are proud to serve the communities in which we live. Service is one of the main pillars of our sisterhood, and we are always glad to contribute and make a difference, whether that's in each others' lives or in the lives of others.
