Sigma Phi Omega started out as an interest group in 2003 called BST (Bringing Sisters Together). Comprised of 17 ambitious young women, helped brought attention to the lack of diversity on campus. In 2005, Sigma Phi Omega was fortunate to extend BST an invitation to go to their Midyear in Las Vegas. 10 college women from SMU joined the New Member program of Sigma Phi Omega in 2005 and a year later, the Theta Chapter at SMU was established. Sigmas have changed the views of different women and helped them open their views on SMU campus. They have encouraged women to step outside of their boundaries and join different organizations that they would not normally join. The following are the classes that have crossed since the charter class.
